In an interview with Omelete at 2019 CCXP, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has finally shared the first details on the highly-anticipated film The Eternals, giving us a much better idea of what to expect for the film’s plot and characters. He also revealed that the upcoming film will change and affect everything in the MCU.

“[The Eternals is] an epic that spans 7,000 years of human history, has cosmic connotations, and changes everything we know about the MCU,” Feige explained. “It’s ambitious, and takes…from present-day to Mesopotamia to all sorts of locations and time periods and really feels like nothing we’ve done before.”

Her big comeback was announced this summer at San Diego Comic Con, along with the added bonus that she’ll be playing the female Thor version of Jane.

Avengers: Endgame

As promised, a new version of Avengers: Endgame arrived in theaters today, supposedly the last big push for the film before it leaves theaters, hopefully (at least as far as Disney’s concerned) as the new #1 biggest film of all time.

Marvel said fans that they would get “a video introduction by director Anthony Russo and an unfinished deleted scene from the film, and it will be a chance for fans to get a head start on the upcoming Marvel Studios’ “Spider-Man: Far From Home” via a special sneak peek!” The “unfinished deleted scene” involved the Hulk, and would have introduced the character instead of the way he’s revealed in the film, having lunch with Captain America, Black Widow, and Ant-Man...

And because it can’t be a Spider-Man movie without Peter having a morally dubious male mentor, Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) steps in to give Peter a superhero pep talk

StarCraft 2

StarCraft 2 is in a curious position right now. It’s not even close to the most-viewed game on Twitch, falling well-short of its competitors like League of Legends and Dota 2. It’s also not as flashy as other popular games that can skirt around the idea of tight, competitive play thanks to an electric aesthetic that draws viewers in—think Fortnite, a game that has serious esports issues but manages to draw in people based on how fun it is to watch rather than how hotly contested a ranked match might be. On the surface, StarCraft 2‘s niche role as a dynamic presence within the South Korean esports scene and an off-the-wall draw for tournament organizers in the west appears to be the perfect spot for it.

That just isn’t fair to the game, however, which has come a long way since its ...

Men In Black: International

Men in Black: International is one of Sony’s big summer blockbusters and hoping to launch a new series within the franchise, but it was actually the cheapest installment in the property to make. On the big screen, Men in Black got its start back in 1997 and was one of the biggest hits of the year, earning $589.3 million worldwide and positive reviews praising the fresh concept and buddy cop chemistry between Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith. Unsurprisingly, sequels were made, but both followups failed to recapture the magic of the original and saw diminishing returns.

After a potential crossover with Sony’s successful Jump Street franchise went south, the studio opted to give MIB a soft reboot in the form of this weekend’s Men in Black: International. Pairing Thor: Ragnarok co-stars Chr...

‘Dark Phoenix’

The news looked bad for Dark Phoenix after its Friday box office numbers were released, and it seems worse now. Experts claimed it was headed for an opening of about $35 million, but the film — the 12th movie in the X-Men franchise — wound up with even less than that.

According to estimates, the film earned $33 million in the U.S. in its opening weekend. That’s not only the worst debut for an X-Men movie in the 20-year history of the series, it’s the worst debut for an X-Men movie in the 20-year history of the series by $20 million dollars. The previous low was The Wolverine, which opened with $53.1 million in U.S. theaters in 2013.

These numbers aren’t adjusted for inflation either. After you do that, these numbers look even worse. X-Men’s $54...

X-MEN: Dark Phoenix

Get ready for the X-Men: Dark Phoenix

The Dark Phoenix saga, is one of the most popular comic book storylines ever, and its movie treatment is finally hitting the big screen. X-Men: The Last Stand nodded to the arc tethered to an ever-powerful and unhinged Jean Grey who becomes at odds with the X-Men, but that one fell kinda flat. This latest effort from director Simon Kinberg at least pays more tribute to parts of the original storyline, with Jean’s powers coming from a cosmic force and something resembling Emma Frost (though she’s different) taking part in Grey’s corruption.

The rest of Dark Phoenix‘s plot is very much taking liberties with the original saga in order to contain and connect the narrative, for better or worse...

Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary’s Godzilla: King of the Monsters opened at the #1 spot at the domestic box office, debuting with $49 million. Internationally the film opened with $130 million for a worldwide total of $179 million. Though the film saw a significant drop in the US as the 2014 Godzilla reboot opened with $93 million in May of 2014, the film opened higher internationally than the previous movie ($130 million to $103 million in 2014). The film had a similar drop domestically and rise internationally compared to Kong: Skull Island, which opened with $61 million in the US but $81.6 million internationally. Transformers: The Last Knight

Transformers: The Last Knight

The Transformers movies have always been films that have divided opinions, but were always very successful at the Box Office. I am one of the people who have enjoyed the Transformers films whilst growing up, and on many occasions found myself defending them, but sadly when it comes to Transformers 5: The Last Knight, I am unable to defend it. I struggle for words when it comes to describing the 5th installment of the robots in disguise, but I am going to try!

The Last Knight starts off well, with it going back into the medieval days, where we see another twist on the legendary wizard, Merlin,  and how he came to getting his magical powers – they happened to be given to him by a Transformer who was hiding on planet Earth...

Avengers Endgame

Avengers Endgame is not the end of the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe), but it is the culmination of 11 years and a 22-movie arc that began in 2008 with Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark declaring to the world, “I am Iron Man.” Marvel built and built to 2012’s The Avengers where Iron Man, along with Captain America (Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) fought back an alien invasion over New York City. That film also teased a pending clash with Thanos (Josh Brolin) over the Infinity Stones. Since then, more characters, too many to list here, were introduced to the MCU...

The Batman

It would be fair to say the DCEU has been through some major changes since The Batman solo movie was originally announced. Back in 2015, before Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice and Suicide Squad, and well before Wonder WomanJustice LeagueAquaman, and ShazamWarner Bros. had planned a Batman movie to star, and be directed by Ben Affleck.

Back then Zack Snyder was overseer of the DCEU, but after disappointing reactions to BvSSuicide Squad, and Justice LeagueWarner Bros. decided to change tack, and Affleck found “a graceful and cool way to segue out of it.”

The movie is still going ahead, but Ben Affleck is out, both in front of and behind the camera.

So what can we expect from The Batman (the title remained, at least for now)? Here’s everyt...
