Aquaman 2

With Aquaman hauling in $1.148 billion worldwide, making it the highest-grossing DC Comics movie yet, it’s unsurprising Warner Bros was eager to move forward with a sequel. As it turns out though, the story that will unfold in Aquaman 2 originated from the mind of its main star, Jason Moma. According to the actor:

Including his cameo in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Jason Momoa has played Aquaman on the big screen three times now, but his fourth outing in Aquaman 2 will allow him to contribute more than as just an actor. During his extensive conversation with Esquire, Momoa explained that he’ll be “working more actively” with the creative team in developing Aquaman 2, which included him pitching his vision for where the sequel would go.

Evidently the War...

Robert Zemeckis in talks to direct Disney’s live-action Pinocchio!

Disney’s live action Pinocchio remake has let its conscience be its guide and chosen Oscar-winner Robert Zemeckis (Forrest Gump, Back to the Future) to direct! According to Variety, Zemeckis’ longtime collaborator Tom Hanks was at one point in talks to play Geppetto, but now the search is on for a new star to fill that role.

The outlet does not say how Zemeckis intends to bring the titular puppet, but it seems likely he would employ the performance capture techniques he used on earlier films like The Polar Express and Beowulf. The last film he did in that style, 2009’s A Christmas Carol, was also for Disney. He had planned to make a version of The Beatles’ Yellow Submarine in perf...

1917 Was Made to Look: One Continuous Shot

In a new video, Sam Mendes and his crew explain how their WWI movie 1917 was filmed to look like one continuous shot. After ten years of directing James Bond films, Mendes is getting back behind the camera for a historical war movie. Titled 1917, the film takes place at the height of the first World War, as a pair of young soldiers are tasked with delivering an urgent message that will prevent their own men (including, one of their brothers) from walking straight into a trap. But in order to do so, the pair will have to journey deep into enemy territory and get back out as quickly as possible.

The official 1917 trailer dropped back in August and was quick to establish the film’s high stakes and other...

Creed 3 Is Still On

Creed 3 Is Still On

The good news is, Creed III is definitely going to happen, according to Michael B. Jordan. The bad news? We just have no idea when it’s going to happen. The other interesting wrinkle is that Jordan could end up personally directing the third installment of the highly successful Rocky spin-off franchise, if he so chooses.

Michael B. Jordan, who stars as Adonis Creed in the movies, was recently at the Toronto International Film Festival on behalf of his upcoming drama Just Mercy. During a red carpet interview, Jordan was asked about Creed 3. While the actor didn’t have much to say on the topic, for the time being, he did offer some encouraging words for fans. Here’s what he had to say about it.

“Yeah, we’ll definitely do Creed 3. I don’t know when though.”

‘Bad Boys For Life’

It’s crazy to think that Bad Boy 2 came out 16 years ago. So much has changed in the world since then. But some things never change – like the public’s desire to watch Will Smith and Martin Lawrence shoot people in slow-motion. In Bad Boys For Life, “Old-school cops Mike Lowery and Marcus Burnett team up to take down the vicious leader of a Miami drug cartel. Newly created elite team AMMO of the Miami police department along with Mike and Marcus go up against the ruthless Armando Armas.”

Since Smith and Lawrence are both a bit older now than when they started this whole thing, Bad Boys For Life adds some fresh faces to the mix. Alexander Ludwig (Vikings), Vanessa Hudgens (The Princess Switch), and Charles Melton (Riverdale) play “a...

‘Joker’ Final Trailer

One cannot portray the Joker without nailing that signature cackle. It’s intriguing to note how the interpretations have varied across the decades, from Cesar Romero’s campy guffaws to Jack Nicholson’s wheezy, infectious giggle and Heath Ledger’s animalistic bellow.

Phoenix’s deranged take is no less impressive, but given this is a Joker origin story, for the first time we’re seeing the genesis of said laugh. The scene in the trailer when Phoenix lets rip, only to abruptly come to a stop, is chilling because we’re unsure if it’s an affectation, or some kind of brief psychotic episode that portends the Joker persona.

Are we going to see the emergence of said persona in dribs and drabs before it eventually erupts towards the end of the movie?

The Joker final trailer ...

Black Widow

So, it’s no secret Avengers: Endgame brought in some serious record-breaking cash at the worldwide box office, becoming the highest-grossing movie of all time. But, if we added up all the tears Marvel fans wiped away in the theaters – now that’s mind-blowing. The movie delivered some incredibly emotional goodbyes for Tony Stark and Steve Rogers. The two sides of the same coin were given bittersweet send-offs. Iron Man sacrificed his life like a hero to save the universe, and Captain America finally got a little selfish, going back in time to catch a lifelong of dances with his girl, Peggy.

There’s one other death in Avengers: Endgame, and it leaves more of a sour taste...

Venom 2

Rumors move fast in the Hollywood business, and sometimes what’s valid and in the running one day becomes debunked the next. Sometimes though, rumors pan out, and the truth is soon revealed. Much like today, when Andy Serkis was confirmed as the director for Sony’s Venom 2.

After a weekend of whispers of meetings between Andy Serkis and Sony, as well as a tease from Tom Hardy, the former baddie from Black Panther is now going to go behind the cameras to craft a superpowered flick of his own. Which is fantastic, because as far as I’m concerned, Andy Serkis is the best damned option for directing Venom 2. Here are the reasons why.

The Art of Racing in the Rain

The Art of Racing in the Rain

The Art of Racing in the Rain’s main conceit wields mixed returns, resulting in a family dramedy that’s whimsical and manipulative in equal measure.

Adapted from Garth Stein’s best-selling novel, The Art of Racing in the Rain naturally invites comparisons to Marley & Me; its poster even boasts that it hales “from the studio” behind that very book-turned film. But where the latter is a memoir that explores how a trouble-making dog becomes the grounding force for a family as life chucks one unexpected curveball after another their way, The Art of Racing in the Rain is a fictional narrative about the trials and tribulations of a professional race car driver, as seen (in the movie, sometimes literally) from the perspective of their unique pup...

Reshoots are common. Normal. They are often even built into the schedule of major superhero movies. But still, the word “reshoots” can send a chill into fans’ hearts, especially DCEU fans still upset about Zack Snyder’s treatment when making Justice League. So when word came out that the Wonder Woman sequel, Wonder Woman 1984, was reportedly back in London for reshoots, fans got nervous:

Gal Gadot posted about wrapping filming for Wonder Woman back in December 2018. Director Patty Jenkins was so excited for fans to see the movie, she recently said she regretted asking Warner Bros. to push the date back from a November 2019 release to June 2020...

Jurassic World 3

Colin Trevorrow is getting ready for Jurassic World 3 and he teased where it’s going. Additionally, the director commented on the original Jurassic Park cast rumors that have been circulating over the last few months. Trevorrow is returning to the franchise after J.A. Bayona directed last year’s Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, which was a bit divisive amongst fans and critics. With that being said, it sounds like Trevorrow has something special planned for the third installment.

Jurassic World 3 isn’t set to hit theaters until 2021, so there’s still a lot of work that needs to be done behind-the-scenes before the cameras start rolling. Colin Trevorrow is already hard at work on the highly anticipated sequel and getting the story just right...

New Rocky Movie

Franchise star Sylvester Stallone has previously made it clear he’s interested in starring in a new Rocky movie, and now the actor says the studio is ready to move forward with the project. The Rocky franchise has gone in new creative directions with Michael B. Jordan in Creed and Creed II, but in the future, we could be seeing both movie series running concurrently. At this stage, Stallone is reportedly in negotiations to write and direct the potential project. There’s no guarantee we’ll see Rocky Balboa appear in the inevitable Creed III, but it appears that either way, we haven’t seen the last of the Italian Stallion just yet.

As with Creed, Stallone’s planned Rocky sequel will see the retired boxer in the role of a trainer, passing on his expertise to a new fighter...

In the jungle, the mighty box office jungle, the lion doesn’t sleep tonight. It eats the competition. That’s what lions do! (They didn’t become kings of the jungle by being extremely nice to everyone. Let’s get real here.)

It grossed an estimated $185 million, making it the biggest movie ever to debut in the month of July. Here’s how it stacks up against some of the other biggest July movies:

The Rock’s Black Adam In Shazam! 3

This past spring, Shazam, formerly known as Captain Marvel, finally made his film debut, and the DC Extended Universe-set origin story saw Billy Batson going up against Dr. Thaddeus Sivana, his arch-nemesis from the comics. But Shazam has another opponent who’s given him a lot of trouble over the decades: Black Adam, who will be played by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson on the big screen.

With Shazam! 2 getting the green light, some might have wondered if that’s when we’ll finally get the long-awaited cinematic clash between Shazam and Black Adam, but Zachary Levi, who plays the World’s Mightiest Mortal, believes that showdown is being saved for Shazam! 3. In the actor’s words:

Bond 25

Fans hoping for some new blood as 007 may have gotten their wish from the still-untitled Bond 25, even though Daniel Craig is returning as James Bond for another adventure as Ian Fleming’s gentleman spy. According to The Daily Mail, while Craig’s Bond is back, he is not playing 007.

Instead, a new character played by Lashana Lynch has replaced James Bond as MI6’s Agent 007. Bond is retired when Bond 25 begins, before he’s called back into action to help with a new situation. In the interim, Lynch’s character has apparently been promoted to 007.

Here’s how the Mail’s source describes the big scene that reveals the new status quo:

There is a pivotal scene at the start of the film where M says ‘Come in 007,’ and in walks Lashana who is black, beautiful and a wo...
